Principal's Message
Dear Loma Vista Families,
Welcome back to another school year. If you are a new family, we welcome you to the Loma Vista Lobo family! We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. Our staff is committed to creating a welcoming environment where all students feel cared for, accepted, heard, successful, and with a desire to come to school to learn.
As principal I welcome the opportunity to build relationships with the Loma Vista students, families, and staff. Join us in making school a great experience, as parent involvement is an integral part of our students' education. We have a number of opportunities for parents to be involved and support the school. We appreciate the parents and other family members who participate on our School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee, Coffee with the Principal and classroom volunteers. Please speak with someone in our front office if you’d like to become more involved at Loma Vista School.
Once again we continue to focus on improving school attendance. Our goal is to continue to be #1 in district attendance. This year our school start time will move to 8:00am so this year’s motto will be "After 8 you're late let's be on time! We will also be increasing our school day be extending students instructional minutes.
The Loma Vista staff and I want to take the opportunity to thank you in advance for your partnership in your child’s education and for everything you do to make education a top priority in our community. This school year we will focus on making all our Lobos readers. For our primary students lets work on learning our Fry word high frequency words, and learning to love to read. For our upper grade students, we will be working on building reading stamina, reading for the love of reading and reading to comprehend new and informative text.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, ideas, concerns or if you are interested in becoming involved in our efforts at (562) 941-4712 or you can send me an email at [email protected]. I am available for appointments with parents, community and business partners.
